SWEET & SPICY TOFU JERKY
We wanted to see if you could make really delicious jerky in your air fryer…and you can! This tofu jerky is totally addictive; a little bit spicy and smoky and scrumptious. Vegetarians and Vegans rejoice!
Ingredients
1-pound package Extra Firm Tofu
1/4 cup low-sodium soy sauce
2 tablespoons maple syrup
1 tablespoon sriracha
1 teaspoon liquid smoke
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
Instructions
1. Drain the tofu from the package and let it sit on paper towels to absorb any excess moisture.
2. In a small mixing bowl, combine the soy sauce, maple syrup, sriracha, liquid smoke and garlic powder. Whisk to combine.
3. Slice the tofu very thinly on the shorter side of the block of tofu, no thicker than 1/4-inch slices. Place the slices in a single layer in your air fryer basket and brush the soy mixture on both sides of the tofu slices, turning each piece gently and coating with a thin layer of the marinade.
4. Air fry at 300ºF for about 20 minutes, checking at the 15-minute mark. The tofu should be golden brown in color and firm and spongy to the touch. Repeat using the remaining tofu and marinade.

A third echoing question about how to store, how long it’s safe to keep, etc…Seems like the writer ghosted us or this site didn’t deem this recipe worth paying someone to answer comments. Womp, Womp!!!
I am also curious on storage, spoilage…major question would be in my bedroom overnight for morning snack, protein hit
If this is like jerky, does it need refrigeration after cooking if not eaten right away? How long can it keep without spoiling and at what environmental conditions?
